Based on public supplier documentation and editorial analysis, not hands-on testing. Confirm current plan features and commercial terms before buying.

It is half past eight on a Saturday. A family of four arrives for the kayak tour, and the two kayaks you planned to use went out on a half-day hire an hour earlier. Both bookings are valid. They just lived in two different calendars.
Most booking-software mistakes start the same way: an operator compares brands and feature grids before deciding what the software actually has to protect. This guide reverses that order. We start with the shape of your business, use it to cut a long market down to two or three serious candidates, and finish with one test that tells you whether any of them deserves your season.
Step one: name the thing you cannot afford to double-book
Every operator has one resource that hurts most when it is sold twice. For a scheduled tour it is usually the guide, the vehicle or the seats on a departure, so the question is what happens to places, guides and guest messages when a booking moves. For a rental business it is the item itself, so you start with what leaves the shop and what comes back. For an attraction it is the entry: who is allowed through the gate, and when.
Mixed businesses need extra care. If you offer kayak hire and guided kayak trips, the software has to reserve the same physical kayak across two selling models. Two calendars that never talk to each other are the Saturday-morning problem above, waiting to happen.
Once you know your model, pick two or three candidates from the groups that follow. A longer list is useful for research. It is not useful for trials, because nobody runs ten parallel evaluations properly during a working season.
If you sell scheduled tours: Bookeo, Bókun or Rezdy
These three cover most direct-sales and distribution-led tour businesses, and they differ more than their headline prices suggest.
Bookeo: a capped subscription for direct sellers
Bookeo's Standard plan for tours and activities comes in at USD 39.95/month, with room for 1,000 bookings a month, 20 staff logins and 20 guides and vehicles. There is no booking commission on top, although your payment gateway still charges for processing. If most of your guests book on your own website and you fit inside those limits, it is a sensible first trial.[8][5]
Bókun and Rezdy: same entry price, different plans
On Bókun's START plan you will see $49/month plus 1.5% on applicable bookings, for five users with resource management included; PLUS layers on custom agent booking areas and Zapier. Rezdy Foundation is listed at the same $49/month but takes 3% of each online booking, and it includes a manifest and centralised resources, with unlimited users listed in its comparison. Rezdy's Accelerate tier adds automated customer notifications, packages and extras.[2][3]
So the matching $49 does not buy matching products. One has a user cap and a lower percentage; the other has unlimited users and a higher percentage. Which suits you depends on how many people need logins and how much of your revenue comes through online bookings. Our Bókun vs Rezdy comparison works through that trade in detail.
If equipment is shared or hired: Checkfront or Booqable
Here the deciding question is whether you are filling departures or tracking items.
Checkfront documents shared resources and daily, multi-day, timeslot and flexible-time bookings. Put simply, it was built for situations like the kayak business above, where tours and rentals draw from the same fleet. Booqable comes at the problem from the rental side, documenting individually tracked and bulk stock, pickups, returns, downtime and rental buffers. If your daily headache is knowing which bike has come back rather than how many seats are left on the 10 o'clock, start with Booqable.[9][10]
One caution: Booqable is not automatically a replacement for a tour channel manager. If a particular marketplace connection is essential to you, confirm it, along with the paid tier or add-on your workflow needs, before you move your catalogue across. Our equipment rental guide goes deeper on returns and damaged stock.[6]

If you need hands-on help or run the gate: assisted setup and admissions
Some operators simply do not have the time to configure a system themselves. FareHarbor states that its team builds your dashboard and moves your future reservations across, and its boat page documents mobile manifests and offline check-in. Peek Pro documents boat maintenance adjustments and mobile operation. Those are good reasons to include either on a shortlist. They are not evidence that either will cost less or answer your support ticket faster.[1][11][7]
If your business is admission-led, the gate is the test. TicketingHub documents QR scanning and POS hardware. Regiondo Grow lists a mobile scan app alongside channel management. Xola documents waitlists, gated entry and equipment management. Whichever you look at, test the entitlement you actually sell: a membership, a repeat entry or a school-group allocation will expose differences that a standard adult ticket never will.[12][13][14]
Two more names worth a closer look
TrekkSoft suits an evaluation built around agent accounts, POS and an integrated payment gateway. Its Starter plan lists ten agent accounts with annual billing, and Accelerate lists unlimited agent accounts. Regiondo's current offer is explicitly European, with Grow and Pro plans on a one-year contract.[15][12]
Those commercial and regional facts are far more useful filters than claims about which vendor is most popular. If you trade outside Europe, or cannot commit to a year, you have just shortened your list.
The test that decides it
By now you should have two or three names. Before you compare marketing extras, run each one through your worst plausible day.
Set up a private booking and a public departure that need the same guide or vehicle. Book one. The other must become unavailable through every connected sales path, not just on your own website. Then hand the system to an ordinary member of staff, not the owner, and ask them to move a guest and reconcile the payment. If a candidate fails that mandatory workflow, cross it off. No amount of polish elsewhere makes up for it.
Finally, cost the survivors for both a quiet month and a busy month, in one confirmed currency. The dollar symbols on the Bókun and Checkfront pages do not tell you what you will be billed in locally, and Checkfront explicitly says its prices vary by region and currency. Keep payment processing, marketplace commission and migration work as separate lines so you can see where the money actually goes. The pricing guide walks through a full worked example.[2][4]
